Definitions - BLACK or WHITE MAGICIANS

 

From Dr. Bob’s Notes:

 

Black Magician:  Attempts to control and exploit. Organic machines require some control and direction to be awakened. When the organic machine starts to awaken, the Black Magician attempts to put it back to sleep.

 

White Magician will control and direct the machine. When it starts to waken to be a living being, the White Magician does all he/she can to awaken the machine, to allow it to become a living being.

 

One-Liners:

 

The Black Magician puts one to sleep and we can do it to ourselves. The White Magician is only interested in liberation.

 

From “Dis-identify From Not-I’s”

 

That’s a good doubter. So, there’s one that says, “you better not pay too much attention to “it” because if you do you’ll be making it important and that’s BAD, so be sure you do the “right” thing.” You see, they have listened better than Bonnie here. Not-I’s are excellent students. The only thing is those not-I’s use it to drive knives into people —they’re called Black Magicians. They try to destroy you. All the hollering and talking is telling you that you’ll never get along very well.

So you see that when you hear a given amount of material, there are all these endless numbers of “I’s” – six or seven of them. Each one can turn the idea around and say, “I can use that,” and then put that away for future use. Now, if you try to recall it all at once, you have an awful trouble, wouldn’t you think, because they won’t let you have it.

 

Then sometime when you least expect it, they’ll use it against you. We get I, the Observer, up here [pointing to the black board with the Picture of Man] merely observing how they use it, how they threaten. They use the Teaching to threaten you. They use it to intimidate you. They use it to establish doubt. They do anything to use it for hypnotic purposes. 

 

Now, in some of you I’ve heard them referred to as “Black Magicians.”  A Black Magician takes the Teachings and uses it to control people. 

 

The person that’s called the White Magician takes the work and attempts to liberate. The only one that can use it for liberation is this one [pointing again to the board, to ??] 

 

All of these are the Black Magician. [He points to the families of not-I’s in the Picture of Man.] Now, the Black Magician is attempting to control this I, the Awareness. So, the way the not-I’s use it is to use all of the Teachings and turn it against you in some way. It’s been endless through the ages; it’s nothing new. It uses anything to turn and twist the Teaching ideas. 

 

Any of you who have been students of possibly reading the bible, you found that the not-I’s will turn it against you to make a fool out of you. They make it into a threatening book instead of liberating book – that right? The not-I’s will use it to frighten you. They will make it literal, or they will twist it and make you think you are in bad shape.

The not-I’s are the Black Magicians – they’ve been called by many names through many ways of trying to refer to their demonic ways. They are referred to as demons.  They’re referred to as not-I’s. They’re referred to as Black Magicians. They are also referred to by many other names – like chameleons. But if this is merely observed without identifying with it, its power goes out.

 

Now the temptation is always to identify with at least one of them, especially the discouraging “I” that gets up and says, “You aren’t doing it right.” But one can endure these insults – and they are insulters. They also pat you on the back sometimes. There are also the “flatterers” who say, “We’ve got this already. We don’t need this, do we, John?” They will flatter you. They will criticize you. There’s a big family of those lurking within. It will try all the tricks of control, huh? 

 

If one gets caught with the first one that says, “the whole purpose of living is to be non-disturbed,” then of course – they got you.  

 

So, if you change your value and see that the value is to be conscious and to be an ally of X, to be a reporter – an objective reporter to the wise general – you can withstand the onslaught. 

 

The Man saw that His job was of the greatest value. He was to seek out the lost sheep of the house of Israel, which is this. He was not tempted by all the little tempters that said you ought to make bread out of stones or jump off the temple and not bruise yourself and that you can rule the whole world.  The Black Magician tries it all.

 

From “Obstructions to Abundance”

 

That is a wonderful suggestion that will get you to worrying some. Be careful about how the suggestions come. There are endless ways of doin' em and the more indirect they are, the harder they hit you. This requires the reason for being awake and saying you can’t buy that, buster. You see, it's just another way of layin' it out where you are fearful that this energy is attacking you. In other words, you feel endangered just to be out all by yourself, locked up and feel boxed, wouldn't you?

Some of em. And most of em are just sounding' off, getting' themselves a sense of importance -- merely working to get over their sense of inferiority, claiming to have unusual insights and knowledge other people don't have. So, they got it from the inside track, and they'll dish out crumbs to us who will set at their feet and learn. And a few of em do know cause they enjoy the sense of power. I am not ever prepared to say which is which and it really doesn't matter whether it's a guy shot me with a 30-ought six while I was asleep, whether he had meant to or whether he was just poppin' off a 30-ought six in all directions. It really doesn't make much difference. I'm just as bloody either way, right?  So, the whole thing is I watch people with 30-ought sixes.

The other one is that the same methods used that work successfully in the world would work for an unworldly thing. To achieve brownie points in the unworldly teaching, if the person is really interested in that.  In other words, they’ll turn into Black Magicians about here if they’re not very careful.  They’ll begin to use suggestion and understanding of people’s minds and etc. to gain control.  And in other words, the worldly teaching is basically to have control, is it not, over another one.  And when you use those same methods in the unworldly teachings, you are putting people in bondage; and they begin to be controlled and dependent upon somebody and that is what turns it into devilish teaching.

There are only two things a teacher or authority can do – to bind or loose. If you act as a suggester (Black Magician), you try to control others through your suggestions. Or if you teach or suggest through education so that another is exposed to the truth (White Magician), then others can be free or loosed.

 

The apostles, having an understanding of man and the Vicious Cycle, could either be Black Magicians or White Magicians. They could bind or loose.

 

In the reference from the Bible, “binding on earth and in heaven,” the words “on earth” imply that they can be bound by rules and regulations or organizations and structure. “In heaven” means having peace of mind or conflict in my head. The apostles could do either if they chose. They could liberate or put into bondage because they had the information.
